Imagine No Malaria

Simply put, malaria kills.  Today in Africa, a child dies from malaria every 60 seconds. Millions of lives are needlessly lost every year.

WHAT IF malaria were on the endangered list?

What if its days were numbered?

What if we talked about malaria the way we do polio: almost never?

Imagine No Malaria is an extraordinary effort of the people of The United Methodist Church, putting our faith into action to end preventable deaths by malaria in Africa, especially the death of a child or a mother.

We are not alone.  Imagine No Malaria has partners to help make beating malaria a reality.  We work with organizations who are global leaders in the fight against malaria and other diseases of poverty.

Will you help?

Visit www.ImagineNoMalaria.org for more details.

UMCOR

UMCOR is the humanitarian relief and development agency of the United Methodist Church, a worldwide denomination. Compelled by Christ, UMCOR responds to natural or human made disasters—those interruptions of such magnitude that they overwhelm a community's ability to recover on its own.UMCOR's mission is to alleviate human suffering. We provide practical, proactive support to the most vulnerable survivors of chronic or temporary emergencies due to natural or civil causes.

UMCOR supply kits help care for the most vulnerable people during times of crisis. They sustain everyday life by providing basic necessities to people who lack ready access to essential supplies.

Located in Salt Lake City, Utah, UMCOR West depot serves as a material resources warehouse to store UMCOR supply kits. UMCOR West helps reduce shipping costs and enhances efficiency when responding to emergencies in the western part of the US. The depot provides opportunities for kit ministry at churches in the Western Jurisdiction.

The facility serves as a field office and training center for disaster response, and also establishes an additional point of communication for UMCOR particularly if a disaster strikes on the east coast.
